Hello everyone,
Here is a sketch I was doing just for fun, with a little of the process. Line, value blockin of big forms, then smaller forms, and then color overlay, into more opaque paint on top.
Hope you enjoy.

Hello everyone. Just thought I would post a demon sketch I worked on over the break. Trying out some new brushes I got from imagine fx, really like them, they have some good grit to them I feel, and add that vibration that lacks a lot with digital.
Done in photoshop, light sketch, basic values, with a soft light hitting on the forward forms, with a rim light to pop him off the background.

Hello Everyone!
Here is the concept I did for Yrel. I wanted her to have a Joan of Arc kind of feel, so I went with a solid breastplate over the armor bra that occurs most of the time. I really liked working on this character, was a lot of fun.
The idea for this character came from one of our designers named Helen Cheng. When she told me she wanted a strong female lead in the game, I jumped at the chance to help. Hope you all like her.

Hello Everyone!
Just wanted to post up a piece I did for Blizzcon. This design went on shirts as well. Which was a life long dream of mine to see something I did on an official Blizzard shirt. I wish I had a little more time on this piece, and still would like to tighten up a lot of it. Learned a lot during this piece as well. Like never move onto rendering when your composition is still rough lol.
Anyway, here it is! Hope you enjoy.

Hello everyone!
Another Copic Marker/acrylic sketch. This one is of a bunch of tree people dudes. Like a form of treant. I find that working with markers has really helped me isolate my values a lot more to the big choice that I should make for whichever part im working on. If you haven't worked with the medium before, its a lot of fun and worth a shot!
Till next time!

Hello Everyone!
Today I wanted to show some sketches I have been working on during my lunches. These were done with Copic W Markers and acrylic paint.
Its a very fast, quick, and easy medium, and quite fun I think. Great for sketching, and since it dries really fast, you don't have to worry about closing your sketchbook and packing it up.
Each one is about 3x4 inches in size, and I hope to have videos of the process soon if anyone is interested in trying it out. I will be doing something like this live at blizzcon, so trying to get some practice in beforehand so I don't f up in front of like thousands of people.
Hope you like, and come back soon for updates!

Hello everyone, Here is a painting I did during our Friday plein air session. It was overcast which I have never painted before, which was a lot of fun. Took it into photoshop to see where I want to take it next traditionally. Hopefully I can make it come close to this lol.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by and I will have some fun character stuff up soon! Hopefully with process shots and video.
Cheers

Hello Everyone!
This Friday the dungeon team and I set out for some more plein air painting. This is how cool my work is, I got to go to the beach, relax with a bunch of friends while we paint. It's a lot of fun, and I feel my oils getting better I think. Anyway, I feel like I'm learning a lot about color and light from doing these paintings, and recommend going out and doing some painting from life even if you feel like you suck at it. Cause I do, and I'm still having fun!
Cheers till next time.

Hello!
The dungeon team have been doing some lunch painting/sketching sessions every week. Here is a painting I started at lunch time and finished with digital. I have been learning a great deal from going out and painting from life, I highly recommend it if you can afford the equipment lol. Cause it can be quite expensive.
Till next time!

Hello Everyone,
This week I am working on a little side project to try to improve my 3d skills along with my 2d. Me and a friend are going to be doing a series of concepts and turnarounds into full 3d textured models over the next....probably forever lol.
Yesterday we went to Barnes and Noble to get some ideas going. I am thinking of making a guy who controls ravens and is used as a spy for the empire he is a part of. Or maybe each crow does a different thing. Not sure yet. But basically we did some studies yesterday and soon will be doing some character illustrations.
Here is what I was thinking for the look of the crows. I saw one kind of bird that was half grey and half blue, really beautiful, then just took the body of a crow to that same color scheme. So did some quick pen sketches of the general look of them, and a fast sketch of maybe what the guy would look like. Will do a couple different thumbs and roughs and see where it goes. Thanks for taking the time to stop by!
